About the Event

This year we’re delivering the Party for the Arts directly to your doorstep with Party in a Box!

Party in a Box is much more than another virtual fundraiser. Hosted by comedian and storyteller, Bethany Van Delft, and culminating with the night's headline performance by Simpli Whitney, Framingham-raised soul, funk, and R&B musician streaming live from the Firehouse. What's more, each ticket holder will receive a box on the day of the fundraiser. Inside you’ll find a number of boxes filled with surprises. Bethany will let you know when to open each box. No cheating!

Hear from our Executive Director about what we’ve been doing, where we’re heading, and a few surprises! Bid on art, gift cards, services, and more! We’re splitting auction proceeds with Metrowest Worker Center/Casa del Trabajador/Casa do Trabalhador. To learn more about their organization, please visit: http://www.mwc-casa.org/ The night's fun culminates in a headline performance by Simpli Whitney, Framingham-raised soul, funk, and R&B musician streaming live from the Firehouse!

Please join us for this very special night. We know you miss seeing shows in the theater. Believe us--we miss you too! There’s nothing quite like the connected feeling of being together in the same space where the magic is happening. For safety, we can’t be together, so we’ll be delivering the party to you!

Party Boxes will include: Tasty local treats and drinks New ātac merchandise Special prizes Art. games, and more! If you're interested in sponsoring this event, CLICK HERE to check out our sponsor levels and benefits!

ABOUT OUR HEADLINER

Sympli Whitney was born in Springfield, Massachusetts and raised in Framingham, Massachusetts, Sympli Whitney is the daughter of two proud Baptist Ministers. Naturally her introduction to singing was via church choirs as a youth and during her college years training in classical and performance entertainment. She holds a master’s degree and is a U.S. Army veteran. Her first opportunity came when she joined the band “Big Bang Theory” while in college which often landed her in the presence of P Funk royalty.  2014 was the year that introduced Sympli Whitney to the nation and the world! She was featured on BET’s season finale of “Apollo Live” where the judges Gladys Knight, Doug E Fresh and Michael Bivens all searched for words to explain why they enjoyed her performance but they each were impressed. Whitney has that effect on people. It’s hard to say who she reminds you of because she has a sound and vocal style that is all her own. Whitney was one of the featured artists on the 2014 independent release titled “Indie Soul United 2.” She was featured on “7 Days A Week,” “I’d Rather Say Good Morning” and a remake of the Stevie Wonder classic “Black Man.” “ISU 2” reached the #2 spot on the U.K. Soul Chart!  In 2016, Whitney’s debut CD titled “Ryze of the Phoenix” jumped on the scene with conviction, commanding the charts for well over 8 months straight with hits like her first single titled “I Can See You And Me” which climbed the UK Top 30 Soul Chart to number 4 and was played on radio stations across the world!  This burning flame was unstoppable through the summer and well into the fall of 2016 bringing her talent to the attention of a funk label out of France named Fonkfatherz!  This collaboration turned into a powerful and brilliant 12"  two sided vinyl titled Can't Get Enuff/Fresh Luv.  Blowing up the radio waves everywhere, these two songs grew popular with every passing day and kept Sympli ryzing on the charts!  https://sympliwhitney.com/
